Description
Human HCT116 cell line is derived from human colorectal carcinoma (Adult male). It has a mutation in codon 13 of the ras proto-oncogene. The cells are adherent with an epithelial morphology. HCT 116 cells are positive for transforming growth factor beta 1 (TGF beta 1) and beta 2 (TGF beta 2) expression.
HCT116 cell line was used in tumorigenicity studies in vitro and in vivo. It forms primary tumor after implantation into nude mice, which makes it a great tool for studying the mechanisms of tumor growth and metastasis.
This GFP / human HCT116 cell line expresses the codon-optimized monomer GFP fluorescent marker. RFP was expressed under the enhanced EF1a Promoter. Cell line carries the Puromycin resistance.
